Working Principle

The cold mirror technique measures dew point by condensing water vapor onto a mirror surface when gas temperature drops below the dew point—the saturation temperature of water vapor in the gas. As dew/frost forms, diffuse reflection of incident light triggers an electrical signal in the photosensitive device. The detection circuit sends signal changes and temperature data to the control system, which uses intelligent algorithms to calculate and display dew point temperature (frost point when below 0°C).
